Our 2012 publication, The Road Ahead, is the seminal report of the California Competes Council of civic and business leaders. The report found that by 2025 California will need 2.3 million more bachelor’s degrees and technical credentials than it is on track to produce in order to remain a highly competitive state. The Road Ahead includes policy recommendations and is supplemented by three more detailed reports: Informed Planning, Clear Accountability, and Credential Crunch.
