Leadership Council Spotlight: Roger Niello

/

Businessman and Former State Legislator: Roger Niello

California Competes Leadership Council member Roger Niello has a deep understanding of California’s education system, both from his years in public service and from his personal experience.

Mr. Niello first worked as a certified public accountant until joining his family’s business at Niello Auto Group in 1974, where he spent the next 25 years running retail automobile dealerships with his family partners. After serving as the president of the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce, he was elected to the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors and later, the State Assembly.

For our Leadership Council Spotlight series, Executive Director Dr. Su Jin Gatlin Jez asks Mr. Niello about the need to reform higher education and workforce development as well as about his engagement with our work.
