College affordability has been a major issue for student access and success, and California has been focused on significant reforms to student financial aid. On April 14, 2022, California Competes hosted a virtual brown bag session to tackle the other side of the college affordability equation–the cost of college. Will Doyle, PhD, Professor of Higher Education, Vanderbilt University shares his insights on what’s known, what’s theorized, and what can be done about it.
