Cradle-to-Career Data System Workgroup

California Competes Executive Director Dr. Su Jin Gatlin Jez provided public comment at the Cradle-to-Career Data System Workgroup meeting on July 30, 2020. California Competes also submitted recommendations regarding the development of the data system.

To be effective and deliver equitable results, the data system should illuminate the challenges of overlooked small populations, like foster youth, and it should be governed by an independent entity, not a federated system governed by the entities contributing data. These changes would strengthen the data system as it ensures greater accountability for the deep investments the state makes in K-12, higher education, and beyond.
