University of California, Davis, AAS 130: African American Education

On Thursday, April 22, 2021, California Competes Executive Director Dr. Su Jin Gatlin Jez spoke with UC Davis students in AAS 130: African American Education. Dr. Jez discussed her role with California Competes and how the organization contributes to research involving contemporary issues in Black education.

AAS 130 examines the history of the education of African Americans in the United States focused on James Anderson’s seminal work, The Education of Blacks in the South 1860-1935. The class is taught by Dr. Angelo Williams.
