A nationally recognized higher education leader and champion for equity, Chancellor Oakley has focused his efforts on implementing practices and policies that close college opportunity gaps and strengthen pathways to college completion and career success.

Returning to lead the CCC after his temporary federal assignment, Chancellor Oakley shares his insights on what makes California’s higher education system unique and where improvements in workforce development and coordination are needed to support an equitable post-pandemic recovery.
