California Competes Welcomes Return of Lenny Mendonca to Leadership Council

Dear Friends and Partners,

We are pleased to announce that Lenny Mendonca has returned to the California Competes Leadership Council where he previously served before becoming chief economic and business advisor to Governor Gavin Newsom.

In addition to his former role with the State of California, Mr. Mendonca also chaired the California High-Speed Rail Authority Board of Directors. He is a senior partner emeritus of McKinsey & Company and a lecturer on inequality at the Stanford Business School. He has served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations and institutions of higher education including Fidelity Charitable, Western Governors University, the University of California Merced, The Educational Results Partnership, and College Futures Foundation.

We could not be more thrilled to welcome Mr. Mendonca back to the Leadership Council where his contributions have always been enormously valued. His guidance will be critical as California Competes continues to advise decision makers on the state’s post-pandemic recovery and the role higher education can and should play.

Mr. Mendonca’s return to the council is effective immediately.

Sincerely,

Su Jin Gatlin Jez
