In an effort to uplift and help address the challenges encountered by pregnant/parenting student, California Competes: Higher Education for a Strong Economy, Blue Shield of California Foundation, The Michelson 20MM Foundation, Tipping Point Community, Ascend at the Aspen Institute, and The Education Trust—West hosted Forging Equitable Futures for Student Parents in California: A Virtual Statewide Summit to support an emerging movement of student parents, educational leaders, and advocates focused on driving systems change for the student parent population. On July 25-26, partners convened at the virtual summit to:
- Learn about practical, evidence-based examples of student parent success efforts across California
- Identify connections across student parent advocacy efforts
- Build relationships with practitioners, policy makers, advocates, researchers, and student parents across California who are invested in policies and practices in support of student parent success
