Daniel Gross

Former Executive, Sharp Healthcare

Daniel Gross is an experienced health care leader with 40 years of experience, predominately at Sharp HealthCare in San Diego, California, a renowned $5 billion not-for-profit healthcare system. Dr. Gross began his career at Sharp as a clinical nurse and rose through the ranks, serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Sharp Metropolitan Medical Campus for 11 years and ultimately becoming the health system Executive Vice President where he served for 14 years. His responsibilities as Executive Vice President included oversight of Sharp’s four acute care hospitals and three specialty hospitals, including its Clinical Effectiveness, Global Patient Services, Government Relations, Strategic Campus/Facility Development, and Physician Services.

Dr. Gross is a past member of the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees, California Hospital Association Board of Directors, Hospital Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties Board of Directors, California Health Care Foundation Board of Directors, American Heart Association/American Stroke Association Board of Directors, Trauma Care Association of America, San Diego Senior Community Board of Directors, and San Diego Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Dr. Gross serves as adjunct faculty for San Diego State University, University of San Diego, and University of California at San Diego. Dr. Gross has served as an advisor to San Diego Connect, Crisis Medical Systems, and Orbis Education.

Dr. Gross received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Wichita State University, his Master of Science in Nursing Administration from San Diego State University, and his Doctor of Nursing Science from University of San Diego.
