New Blog Post Details Data System Briefing for Employers

In her latest blog post, California Competes Senior Policy and Research Analyst Gail Yen writes about a webinar cohosted by California Competes, California EDGE Coalition, California Small Business Majority, California Labor Federation, and UNITE-LA on April 1, 2021. During the virtual event, California Competes Executive Director Dr. Su Jin Gatlin Jez moderated a discussion with leading industry experts on why the new Cradle-to-Career Data System will be critical for employers.

Much attention has been focused on connecting K-12 data with postsecondary education data as a result of the new system; however, it will also be critically important to understand how students perform in the workforce after college, or if they don’t neither attend nor complete college. California Competes and other organizations are working to educate employers now—during the early stages of the data system’s development—to help them understand how they can be involved in the process as informed stakeholders.
