What motivates you to advance California Competes’s mission?

As a California native raising a child, I consider the impact that statewide and national policy can have on the funding our schools receive. Living in an underserved area of East Oakland, I witness firsthand the consequences of educational inequity for children throughout our city. This disparity persists into adulthood, creating a divide within our community. My motivation lies in paving the way for better opportunities—both for the children of our city and for all of California—by actively supporting the work to improve and implement the necessary changes.
