California Competes Welcomes Keely Martin Bosler and Dr. Leroy Morishita to its Board of Directors

Following our first board meeting of 2024, we are excited to welcome Keely Martin Bosler and Dr. Leroy Morishita to California Competes’s Board of Directors. California Competes benefits from a board that provides diverse expertise, leadership, and statewide reach. Comprising local elected officials, legislators, and business and community leaders, our board is dedicated to advancing equity-centered policy reforms, ensuring all Californians have what they need to achieve their education and career goals.

Keely Martin Bosler is a state finance expert with over two decades of experience working at the highest levels of California state government. Most recently, she served as Governor Gavin Newsom’s Director of Finance as well as the governor’s first Chief Fiscal Advisor, overseeing the development and negotiation of the state’s $300 billion budget. Paired with her experience in the state legislature, Ms. Bosler’s insight into navigating complex financial landscapes and driving pragmatic solutions will be invaluable. We look forward to leveraging Ms. Bosler’s guidance and expertise in state finance and public policy to address the state’s most critical challenges and foster economic prosperity and opportunity for all Californians.

Dr. Leroy Morishita brings over four decades of distinguished leadership in higher education, including his most recent role as interim president at California State University, Los Angeles, after retiring as the president of California State University, East Bay. Dr. Morishita has served on multiple committees within the California State University 23 campus system, including participating in the CSU Commission on Online Education and cochairing the Taskforce for a Sustainable Financial Model for the California State University system. His extensive experience fostering educational excellence and community engagement will guide and support our efforts to transform the postsecondary landscape in alignment with the evolving needs of our community and state.
