This statewide coalition, led by California Competes and EdTrust-West, advances policy, research, and campus reforms to ensure student parents can enroll, graduate, and unlock multigenerational opportunity.

CaliforniaAttain! is a coordinated effort between California Competes, Sacramento State, and the Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Joint Community College District driving systems change to ensure adult learners–especially those with some college but no credential—are recognized, supported, and have clear pathways to college and career success.

Building a Path to Economic Mobility in East San José

San José City College (SJCC), like many community colleges, recognizes the need to better serve residents in its service area, especially adult learners and those in low-wage jobs who could benefit most from a college education. Together with SJCC and East San José community organizations, California Competes is cocreating a new college model with residents to advance economic mobility, align with local workforce needs, and strengthen the regional economy.
