Dr. Jenni Murphy is a scholarly practitioner working at the intersection of higher education, workforce development, and community impact. As Dean of the College of Continuing Education at California State University, Sacramento, Jenni leads efforts to redesign post-secondary systems to better serve adult learners and advance educational justice and institutional responsibility. Under her leadership, Sacramento State has emerged as a regional and national leader in serving returning and adult learners. Jenni also plays a central role in advancing systems change across California. In 2018, she led the region’s first adult learner summit, convening leaders from education, workforce, industry, and government. That effort catalyzed ProjectAttain!, a multi-year initiative that evolved into the Sacramento K-16 Collaborative, which recognizes adult learners as a priority population. Dr. Murphy holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from California State University, Sacramento, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Arizona State University.
